૧૩૪ મી રથયાત્રા, અમદાવાદ - 134th Rathyatra in Ahmedabad

This Sunday was a special day for hindus, a festival associated with lord Jagannath. Decorated chariots of the deities which resembles temple structure are pulled through the city. A huge human crowd joins the festival, the main Rathyatra is held at Puri in Orissa. But there are few other places in India where Rathyatra is celebrated, including Ahmedabad. In fact Ahmedabad celebrates it since last 134 years.

All Devotees want to get a chance to pull a chariots. Many people perform various activities through the path of Rathyatra, body builders and stunt men shows various acts. Ladies groups perform Bhajans. Regional news channel broadcasts live of this Rathyatra, and National news channel generally broadcasts live of Puri Rathyatra.
